Since 2019, Vélos has been nestled in the beautiful riverside town of Warkworth New Zealand, operating its nationwide advanced cycle service centre. Innovation and growth have seen change within Vélos. We are excited to be further developing and building our capabilities, adding New Zealand based manufacturing to our expanding business and adding a shop window to the world.

"Our mission is to design and manufacture exclusive world-beating superbikes from our base in Warkworth, New Zealand, while taking a collaborative approach to provide the composites and aerospace industry with a sustainable pathway to repurpose its waste and surplus carbon into high-value products"

As you read this we are busy developing our superbikes, readying them for release into the wild later in 2024.

We're taking a novel and possibly world first approach to manufacturing our range of race bikes from waste, recycled and surplus carbon fibre provided to us by SailGP Technologies and the NZ Aerospace industry.

Company founder Dan Burrows states “I’m a big believer that innovative advancements in the cycling verse can be found by looking outwards at other industries, and by aligning Vélos with global leaders in composite technologies that have the same values as we do ensure Velos will continue pushing boundaries in sustainability, technology, quality, and the circular economies of our products.”

Our company was set on designing its first sustainable super-bike with an emphasis on repairability, longevity and world beating speed, combining with a focus on superior manufacturing methods such as building our frames as a true one piece monocoque and a build quality more aligned to aerospace standards than that of the mass-produced big box brands that hold market share today.

To achieve this, we started designing from the ground up with world class bike designer Dave Higgins breathing life into our concepts and direction.
His designs have won World championships, Olympic and Commonwealth games medals on the track. Professional stages on the road and outside of cycling his designs even had a role in Team New Zealand winning back the Americas Cup in Bermuda.
These achievements plus Dave’s previous roles as Head of engineering and design at Avanti Bikes made him the perfect candidate to bring on board, bringing huge credibility and proven expertise to us at Velos.

While good design principles and superior manufacturing tick a lot of boxes, we as a company also wanted to give a new approach to customisation and the customer experience.

Our commitment lies in offering an unparalleled white-glove customisation experience, an offering far removed from what you'd find in mainstream high street stores or app-based retail platforms.

With a worldwide cap of just 100 builds slots for 2024, each one is meticulously tailored to your individual preferences. You have the liberty to select your preferred drive chain brand and fine-tune every specification to your liking.

Collaborating with our team one on one to conceive a truly unique, one-of-a-kind paint scheme, with your imagination as the sole limitation.

Now does this sound like your next dream bike?
